HCA Virginia’s Reston Hospital Center has been recognized as a 2014 Top Performers on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission – the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in the United States.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the hospital has earned this recognition and is among 106 HCA Hospitals in the country to earn the status.
“Our hospital continues to strive for excellence in patient safety, quality of care, and positive outcomes,” said Cindy Glover, chief nursing officer, Reston Hospital Center. “This recognition proves our dedication to our patients and I am proud of our clinical teams who worked tirelessly to earn this achievement.”
The Top Performers program recognizes hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measures related to evidence-based care for certain conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, children’s asthma, inpatient psychiatric services, stroke, venous thromboembolism, immunization, and perinatal care.
“The Joint Commission’s Top Performers recognition uses objective data to determine the top hospitals, and we are proud that we have been recognized yet again for our consistent achievement of high performance levels on key quality measures,” said Dr. Walter Zolkiwsky, Reston’s chief medical officer. “We appreciate our colleagues across the country, whose dedication to evidence-based clinical practices helps ensure the best possible outcomes for the patients we’re privileged to treat.”
The Top Performers on Key Quality Measures program supports and provides an incentive for organizations to continually improve. The program also provides an opportunity for top-performing hospitals to celebrate their achievement of excellence in accountability measure performance.
